Monarch Airlines Volcanic Ash Refunds

A question about : Monarch Airlines Volcanic Ash Refunds

Hi all,

if anybody is still having problems getting a full refund from Monarch Airlines for expenses covered under Right of Care following the Volcanic Ash Cloud, then please let me know. I had some friends who were caught in this, and we have now got a FULL refund, including the costs of hotels abroad at full rate, the cost of a hotel in the UK at full rate, the cost of a coach ticket up from london to manchester, and incidental expenses of Ј30 i claimed for to cover extra's, such as telephone calls etc.

Any success claiming for phonecalls from airlines?

A question about : Any success claiming for phonecalls from airlines?

Hi

Just wondering if anyone had managed to get a refund on their phonecalls whilst stuck in the volcano chaos.

I was in a group fo 4 stuck in New York for 5 nights and all calls for the group were made from my phone (parents and brother in my group).

Last week finally got a 2nd cheque from Virgin to cover the accommodation and food costs. I had to dispute it originally as they miscalculated all the food bills despite having all of the receipts!

    If Grimsvotn erupted again soon

A question about : If Grimsvotn erupted again soon

If Grimsvotn started producing significant ash again now or within the next few weeks, would insurers count this as part of an existing event (and insurance bought in the interim would not cover it) or would it be a new event?

    Any ideas/thoughts?

I'm looking to buy insurance for travel in July and I'm trying to figure out who to buy it from and when to buy it. People shouldn't be needing to gamble and play the system like this!

    EasyJet expenses claim

A question about : EasyJet expenses claim

Like many people I was stuck in Alicante in April 2010 due the volcanic ash cloud. At the airport I was told that I could make my own way home and EasyJet would pay for car hire, hotels and food on the way. I was told at the time they probably wouldn't pay for the ferry journey from Calais to Dover.

    Travel Insurance for Volcanic Ash

A question about : Travel Insurance for Volcanic Ash

With the recent eruption of another volcano, previous fears regarding whether travel insurance covers you or not have returned for some people. (Although this one is not supposed to be as detrimental to UK flights as the previous one)
