A question about : P & o compensation

After paying Ј3998.00 for a 12 day cruise we experienced problems on a cruise with our Toilet overflowing twice, this caused us to have 2 days of misery. We have been awarded Ј400.00 discount on a next cruise (for 2 people) Do we have to accept this ?. we would rather have had the refund. Should we refuse and ask for a refund.

A question about : Are non-refundable deposits always non-refundable

I have recently (6 days ago) placed a large apparently non-refundable deposit down on a wedding venue (2016 wedding). Unfortunately within 2 days of doing so our personal circumstances changed completely out of the blue meaning that this venue would no longer be appropriate. Is there any legislation or means by which the deposit can be refunded? I have read about a 14 day cancellation rule for services ordered via telephone. Does this or any other legislation help me in any way shape or form?

Not sure if this is the right place to talk about my issue.
I have found some other threads on that subject which were helpful but not related enough to my query.

Here is the issue:
I have taken some pictures and gave a JPEG copy of them to someone (I never give away my RAW pictures) so they can use them as long as they would credit my name on those pictures. There are no trace of that discussion, it was all verbal and pictures given via usb, not emails.

So I've been an ASDA shopper for a fair few years now as it's my local store and just a few minutes away from my house, but just now this evening I've had a bit of an issue down the store.

I walked into the store, went around and grabbed my bits. Security guard was following me around like a bit of a hawk - which didn't really bother me or stick out too much as he always seems to pick the youngest person to walk in to follow. (I'm in my late teens)
