A question about : P & o compensation

After paying Ј3998.00 for a 12 day cruise we experienced problems on a cruise with our Toilet overflowing twice, this caused us to have 2 days of misery. We have been awarded Ј400.00 discount on a next cruise (for 2 people) Do we have to accept this ?. we would rather have had the refund. Should we refuse and ask for a refund.

Best answers:

  • Refund of what exactly? Can you explain why the toilet overflowing twice ruined 2 whole days of your cruise. Do you stay in your cabin for the whole period?
  • so you had a 12 day cruise costing Ј3999.00 (Ј333.17 per day) and they have offer your Ј400 off the next cruise. For the issue it depends if you reported your complaint at the time or waited until you returned home, but i would say Ј400 is fair
  • Not just a refund but they should give you a ship.
  • So you complained and someone came and sorted it, why did this cause misery?
  • Were the two days of misery because one could not do number twos or was it more of the kind Dhelli Belly!
  • A cruise ship loo flooding sends raw sewage- not you own all over your cabin.
  • Would enjoy a holiday in that you spend a the whole time worrying when the WC might back-up, and possibly destroying your belongings? I would want another holiday.
  • You could have stuck your bums out of the porthole.
Why is it that P & O have constant problems with their toilets? Can they not get any plumbers?
  • Demand a cash refund op - frankly a discount voucher is pretty shoddy.
  • Another vote for cash refund - P&O (and other cruise lines) are too fond of offering money off the next cruise.
If this was Oriana, it has a long history of plumbing problems. We recently had no hot water for a couple of days and tales of wonky loos were rife.
BTW, may I suggest next time you do some homework on cruise pricing? Unless you got a suite, nearly Ј4,000 for (presumably) 2 pax is a lot for a 12 day cruise.
