Hi - newbie here after some opinions please

I've had my home insurance with my mortgage provider (Halifax) since I bought my house 10 years ago. I'm happy with the mortgage (only Ј30K left, woohoo) but the insurance is Ј755 per year! Obviously this is a proportionately massive part of my repayments now.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but Google doesn't seem to have an answer to my quandry ...

My current car is leased (PCP) and the lease expires on 1st March.

My new car, however, won't be delivered until the end of March.

The garage that I am buying my new car from, has paid off the lease and therefore owns it from 1st March, but is letting me still drive it for a month until my new car arrives.

I'm in a bit of a mess of my own making - I don't expect any sympathy but would be most grateful for any help!

I have been caught out recently because I needed to report an accident to my car insurance, but in this process, discovered that when I renewed last year I hadn't disclosed three points on my licence from late 2013.

The insurers have asked for a photocopy of my licence, and since then I have heard very little. I don't want to pre-empt them, but there's a small chance they may void my policy.
