A question about : Cash,credit card or travellers cheques in Thailand?

We are travelling to Thailand in January just wondering what everyone's thoughts were about the currency format to take? Obviously we will require some cash but I wouldn't be carrying around 2weeks worth of money. I assume we'll pay for hotel with credit card but what way do the charges measure up with regards withdrawing cash or using tcs?

A question about : Ђ500 Note

Hi,

A friend of mine has managed to get lumbered with a Ђ500 note whilst abroad.

Is there anywhere over here that they will be able to get it changed?

They have already tried a local travel agent and Yorkshire Bank, who say they cant accept any denomination greater than a Ђ200 note.

  If you have agreed a price in US$ then it depends on your bank what exchange rate they will give you.

A question about : China

My son is shortly to travel to Beijing to study for 4 months. I would be grateful for advice on the best ways for him to access cash whilst he is there.
I am aware of the Halifax Clarity credit card and Post Office 'Travel Money Card Plus', but would welcome the benefit of other's knowledge.
Essentially we (his parents) will be financing the trip and we need to be able to send him money or top up his account online on a regular basis.

A question about : Exchange rates

Where are they?

As I'm planning an overseas holiday to New Zealand I thought I'd just find out Lloyds Bank's current exchange rates and where I can get current information about rates. Today's rate was given (poor as expected) but two different advisers could not help with where to find the day's rate. A third eventually recommended going into internet banking international payments and setting up a recipient, which would then give the exchange. I've tried this and it is a very long winded way of finding out the rate.

A question about : Sending Brazil Real to Brazil

I'm trying to send Brazil Real to a bank account in Brazil, but I can't find anyone that can do this, only companies that can send Dollars or Pound sterling.

Does anyone know anywhere that would send Brazilian currency?
