A question about : Would we be entitled to claim?

Hi All,

i recieved my P60 on friday (i know, 2 months late!) and judging by the figures, i think i should have been able to claim Child tax credit?

we had a letter a few months back, saying because i was over the 26K limit, our payments would stop, obviously this has been mis-calculated and my actual pretax pay is below this figure!

My partner is now back in employment also and i get the feeling we may be entitled to something?

A question about : Pensioners Savings Allowance

Can anyone tell me what the current level of savings for pensioners is before it starts to affect any benefits - I believe for pension credit this is Ј10,000 but is there an overall maximum you can have as savings before any other benefits such as attendance, housing or disability are affected?

A question about : How does JSA repayment work?

Just received my P45 and the total pay in this employment looks a lot less than what I should have received after 20% tax deduction, so I'm guessing the rest was deducted from the JSA benefits I claimed before employment? Total tax in this employment = 0. Tax code at leaving date 747L, and in no.7 of the P45 sheet it says last entries on P11 deductions working sheet. Complete only if Tax Code is cumulative. It says week 39, and have a figure approx 2k besides total pay to date.

A question about : Working temporarily while on JSA

Dear all,

I may be working temporarily for two weeks in January and at the moment i will be on JSA. Will this stop me receiving JSA or can i still work and not loose out on any money?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

A question about : Statutory Maternity Pay

I have posted this as well on the marriage and babies board but someone here might be able to help me.

My hubby to be and I would like to have a baby in about two years' time (ie get pregnant early 2006).

At the moment I am a casual employee at a newspaper. I work full-time hours, five days a week and this is likely to continue without me being offered a permanent contract.

Obviously there are no maternity benefits for me, but even if I was on contract I would only get the minimum six weeks.

I have just put in a claim for income support as my husband has left me and our daughter and I have no income or savings

I have been told that the child element is now replaced by child tax credits? The child element was about Ј40 a week whereas the child tax credit I am entitled to is only about Ј13 a week – I have also been told that they deduct child ben and any child support from your benefits, this would mean I would only get about Ј25 a week to live on?? Surely this cant be right
