A question about : what is a "gift" classed as?

Im trying to claim council tax benefir and they want 2 months bank statements. My dad gives me Ј100 per week (lucky me i know!) will they take this into consideration for benefirs ie tax credits and council tax?

A question about : Deferred Pension Robbery

I'm looking for confirmation that I am being robbed by the revenue!
I am 70 years old, I have paid my dues for fifty five years, five years ago I elected to defer my pension for five years, this year I decided to claim a lump sum and start to take my state pension, I am still working.
The revenue (because I am still working)are not only taking 40% of the accrued lump sum payment, but have now reduced my personal allowance from 944L (Ј9440) to 208L (Ј2008) a reduction of Ј7432 of which I will be taxed at 40% Ј2972.80!

Hi all

Myself and my partner have decided to move in together and declare to hmrc we are partners

She currently has 2 children under 5 one in school and does not work

I am self employed as a sole trader and earn in excess of 30.000

We are trying to find out exactly what we are entitled too and if her working will be better. What I read is as its over 30k it does not make a different if she is working or not.

Long story short I was made redundant, I've been out of work for about a year and have been claiming JSA for just under 6 months. I'm considering not claiming JSA anymore despite having not found employment yet and I'm wondering what the consequences of this might be? I've heard stuff about NI contributions being effected etc.
