A question about : Help with school fees

My husband has just left me and our daughter and I am going through the process of claiming for benefits etc.

my daughter goes to pre school and in Jan her funding will start, however I beleive they only fund for 11 weeks of every term and some terms are longer depending on the school which would mean I would have to pay top up fees of around Ј25 per week for maybe 2 or 3 weeks.

A question about : NHS Exemption Card....haven't received mine yet

My partner and i receive WTC and CTC and our income is below 15,000.
I have not received our exemption cards yet and just wondered if any of you are still waiting for yours.
I have a dentist appointment this week and haven't got a card to show them,so I'm wondering if they might make me pay for my treatment.
Can i just show the dentist my award letter for now until the cards arrive?

A question about : benifits overpayment from 12 years ago

Hi,

I've read somewhere on here that if you have a debt with a company and you have made no payments and had no contact with the company for six years that the company can not claim the money back.

So if an over payment had been made to me in benefits 12 years ago can they now request it back. This is the first correspondence ever made about this. It's about Ј500. Do they have the right to request interest as well?

A question about : Letter to cancel Housing Benefit

I'm going to write to cancel my Housing Benefit but I don't want to give a reason. Is it acceptable to just write:

Dear sirs HB ref; xxxxxxx
I'm writing to cancel my claim for Housing Benefit.
