A question about : Benefit rates

Just looking at benefit rates for the coming yearly increase and have seen that on Pension Credits that if you have an Additional Spouse.... You get extra money for them !!!
What the hell?
Why should you be able to claim for an extra spouse. I though the law in the UK was that you can't marry more than 1 person, so if that's the law, why are they paying out this extra money to those that are in a polygamous relationship ..... Nearly Ј80 pw per extra spouse

I'm on higher rate ESA and am in the support group and recently been awarded the daily living component of PIP at the standard rate. I was also sent a letter stating that I may be entitled to severe disability premium, I filled the form and sent it back but am not eligible because I still live with my mum who's on lower rate dla and works.

I am currently claiming ESA and have just reached the 13 week stage and have today received an appointment for a face to face assessment.

I am self employed and drive for a living but last year had to surrender my driving licence for six months on Drs orders due to a medical condition. I was advised to claim ESA as I was unable to work in my current job as it involves having to drive.

Would my Mom be able to receive help getting Gas central heating system installed ?

A question about : Ending ESA

Hi Guys

After taking the advice of people here I have decided to end my ESA claim. My last payment date was Fri 6th and my next payment date is Fri 20th.
I would prefer to not have an over payment so in your opinion when should I cancel ?

A question about : HMRC changed my tax code to claim back their overpaid Tax Credits

HMRC have written to me and my employer informing that they are changing my tax code as years ago, I was apparently overpaid Tax Credits by Ј1077.33. They have therefore adjusted my tax code and reduced my tax-free amount to enable them to collect 'their' over payment. Are they allowed to do this? It was not my fault that they overpaid me? Is there anything I can do? Has this happen to you? Dates
