A question about : Flexible benefits at work

I've just become staff in my job (after 3.5 years as a contractor in the role). This is the first time i've had the option of flexible benefits, and i'm not really sure where to start!

In the employee guide it says:
... you are provided with a set of core benefits and in addition to these, and your basic salary, you will also be given Ј3000 annually which can be used to acquire Flex Shares or used to purchase other benefits

Hi, I hope you can help me with a question.

Our child tax credits this year is based on my husband earning Ј25,000. Having looked at this months pay docket it looks like his earning will be more towards Ј29,000 this tax year.

A question about : Claiming back per diem?

The company I work for allows for a Ј10 per diem allowance inclusive of my net wage pre tax. However when the allowance is calculated after tax I'm deducted more than the Ј10 that is allowed me. My job involves me working away at times however the majority of my work is based local to where I live so have no need for an allowance.
I have been told that I can claim back this per diem allowance but don’t know whether this is true and if it is how I go about it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I am currently helping a 30 year old single man in my area who has recently become self employed, he has registered to be self employed and is currently in receipt of housing benefit. This covers rent and council tax based on his earnings of around Ј100 per week, sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less if he has had good/bad weeks. He has a small sales business which works throughout the year, this is selling products which he has purchased from a wholesaler.

I had a bumpy start with my tax credits award and needed the intervention of my MP to sort it out. Eventually they began to pay me money and I notified them three times during the year of increase in pay. My award was adapted accordingly as it was when my son reached 19 (despite being still at college).

Today I have received a letter from them telling me I have been overpaid by Ј1879.65! HOW? I don't understand!

As you read I am a lone parent with a difference. It is the mother that has left, not the father. She decided there is more to life than looking after young kids.

My children are aged 9, 6 and 2.5 years old. The two eldest attend school while the youngest keeps me occupied at home.
