A question about : 1940s themed Anniversary

Hi all

I'm hosting a 1940s (WW2) themed afternoon tea/tea party for my parents 30th wedding anniversary.

We've booked an old wooden scout hut, which is small but ideal (and cheap!).

As a family we have a love for all things 1940s, so I know what Im looking for etc, with decorations etc.

But any tips on saving money?

How would we keep food/drink costs down? We're thinking of just making sandwiches (for 50 people) and purchasing a few of the cakes, just to cut down the work etc.

A question about : Cleaning and Selling Wedding Dress

Hi everyone,

I got married last month and am now wanting to sell my dress. The bottom layer and train got quite mucky but otherwise it is fine. Can anyone recommend the best place to get it cleaned? And could anyone recommend the best way to sell it to get the best price?

Looking for an updated view of which companies to go with for wedding insurance.
Plenty of company's offer it but who can you trust in the unlikely event of having to claim.
Anything we should be checking in the small print?
Has anyone been in the unfortunate position of having actually made a claim and if so how were you treated.

A question about : Bridesmaid dresses

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy bridesmaid dresses. I don't want to spend a fortune, ideally I would like to spend about Ј100 per bridesmaid for dress and shoes, but can go a bit higher if needs be. I'm only having 2 bridesmaids so if it is a little more then not a huge problem (but less would be even better!!).

A question about : Engagement momento christmas bauble. Any ideas.

Stepdaughter got engaged last week. Thought it would be nice to give her a christmas bauble commemorating it. I've bought a gorgeous glass heart which opens up and I would like to put something inside to commemorate their engagement for years to come. I was thinking photograph/letter from us/confetti/. I know people have really good ideas on here. Looking for inspiration.
