A question about : Ј1000 Wedding Glasgow

Hi all,

My partner and I had our wedding planned in our heads but we've come to the realisation that we just can't afford it. We have now set a limit of Ј1000. I'm struggling to find a venue in or around Glasgow where I can provide my own catering. If anyone can recommend anywhere or give us any tips on how to make our money go far we'd really appreciate it!

I've been on the forum for ages but not posted a lot, but I'm hoping you might be able to help me.

I've just got engaged (woo hoo!) but I'm already getting a bit miffed with wedding planning. The problem is finding a venue... As I want to get married this year (October) I have got on to venues straight away but many are already fully booked for this year and the next! The one's that do have availability seem to be hugely expensive (Ј8k minimum spend on food & drink plus Ј2k room hire!).

My best friend has asked me to be a bridesmaid at her wedding. I'm thrilled but worried about how much it's going to cost. Should I be expected to foot the bill for the dress? And if so does that mean I get to choose it or is this still the bride's decision?

A question about : Entertaining my children on my wedding morning HOW???

I have 2 lovely boys, by my wedding day they will be 5 and 2 years old.
I am not getting married till 2pm and they normally get up at 6am.

how do people keep their kids entertained on their wedding day?

no idea what to do with them while everyone is getting ready
the bridesmaids and MOB and myself are all getting hair and makeup done

should I be looking for a nanny/babysitter to occupy them?

There is also a bolero at Ј10 with free P&P!! (sadly its lemon ivory which is too 'yellow' for me)
