I've had a look around and couldn't find a thread dedicated to October 2015 brides and grooms, and since we've all got about a year to go, I thought it was time we had one.

A question about : Getting married abroad, no guests

My OH and I are thinking about getting married in the next year or two but don't want a big fuss and just want to slip off and do it quietly.
We've been thinking the easiest way to do this without any family getting offended about not being invited is to get married abroad and tell everyone when we get back.
I don't know where to begin though, has anyone on here done this before and can anyone suggest somewhere we could go for a combined holiday/wedding?

A question about : Wedding photographer

Unsure how to go about asking this so though i would ask other peoples views.

Managed to find a photographer for our wedding day who is covering the whole day.

But we are unsure of whats expected, do people normally also have them inc for the wedding breakfast (we dont know them just hunted google/facebook and seem good)

A question about : Lake district wedding discounts

Hi,
we are planning our wedding and have looked at a number of venues in the Lake District, some more competitive than others... Has anyone successfully negotiated discounts at any of the following venues:
Broadoaks Hotel
Daffodil Hotel and Spa
Langdale Chase
Lodore Falls
Inn on the Lake
??
Any thoughts on this topic would be greatly appreciated as we are pushing the limits of our budget with little room for manoeuvre!

A question about : Getting married and not having any family there?

My partner and I have been together for 9 years and have a 5 month old son. We always knew we wanted to get married in our tenth year together and wanted a very very low key affair, so provisionally booked the registrar for May 2016.

A question about : Simple vows

So, OH and I are (well me lol) are planning a simple registry office wedding, with around 8 guests.
We both hate being centre of attention so there will be no speeches/first dance etc and I've been looking at some vows and I know my OH would be mortified reading them out loud, as would I!

Has anyone got any suggestions for something simple, yet meaningful?X

A question about : Married on the cheap?

We have been engaged 15 years now, the reason we haven't got married is the cost, my OH works part time, myself I work for min wage.

We want something that doesn't look cheap as we would be talked about, I mean if its registry office out for a meal then something in the local pub lounge its not gonna do.

I've been looking around local hotels, cheapest I can find is Ј20pp minimum 60 people, so that's Ј1200, and I suppose other bits and pieces its gonna be at least Ј2k

A question about : Church wedding flowers budget

Hello lovely brides and grooms to be!

We're getting married on 11th April this year so not long now and just trying to finish off bits and pieces.

We're in discussions now about the flowers to have in the church. We've been asked what budget we're working to and would be great to hear some advice about what people think is reasonable as we don't have much budget left but obviously don't want to suggest something too small that's insulting.

Any suggestions would be greatly received!
