What is the legal position on gambling debts

I agreed to join an 'investment organisation' who 'lost 1700 of my money and all i have is a bank account and sort code - what is the chances of recovering any of this - although he said investments he was using the betting exchanges to gain investments

I fear i have been stung badly but thought i might seek any help i can get - happy to give more detail if you think you can help me

A question about : 'Friend' owes me money

Hi, I made a big mistake and moved in with someone I thoughtwas a friend but who now owes me Ј220 in rent and is refusing to pay it back. Ihave now moved out of the house and the contract ends on 8th November but thereare outstanding bills on the property and i don't know what to do. The moneyshe owes me is for rent as she is claiming housing benefit and the council took3 months to sort out her claim so I paid all the rent for 3 months. When herclaim was resolved the council said they would not pay it all so I was left outof pocket.

Hi I wonder if you can help. My daughters nursery used to be owned by the local council and I paid monthly, by credit card, online via the council's website.

In July I received a letter stating that the current manager of the nursery was in the process of buying the nursery and that the manager would notify us when complete and we wouldn't notice any changes etc etc.

I cannot pay the rent increase served on me today. I already get the maximum help and pay a little bit myself towards it.

Should i tell the landlord i cant pay and hope they accept it or should i go and ask for a discretionary payment from the council?What are my chances of getting it at this time of year and for how long would it go on?

Is there a best time to apply for it?

hi,

i am going travelling and gave my dad most of my money and he will be giving me an allowance ever so often.

it is a sizeable amount so i was wondering if i should get him to sign a disclaimer to say the money is mine, would be ok should anything happen?!

or what should it include.

is this also morally wrong?
