A question about : Npower taking us to town on gas bill.

First, a little set up -

2 Bedroom flat, built in around 2003, double glazed windows throughout, top floor (of three floors total) insulated attic.

A question about : Warm home discount

Has anybody noticed that if you are eligible for the Warm Home Discount scheme you don't get the Ј140 award till the end of March so if like me you are with a company such as EDF even though you may find cheaper energy rates with other companies before this time unless you can improve on the Ј140 even though EDF doesn't charge a leaving fee you are in effect tied to them. You lose the award if you leave EDF before this time.

A question about : First Utility: What would be a reasonable expectation for resolution?

We switched to first utility in 2012 and they supplied gas/electric up until we moved properties in September 2013. We have had several ongoing problems with them and wondered what would be realistic to expect from them in terms of resolution?

We left the property in Sept 2013, confirmed final readings to them and gave our new address. Believed the account was clear at this point.

A question about : Setting the timing for electric water heater

Hello everyone!

I live in a (electricity only) property where there's a single rate meter. I am considering to move to a dual rate meter (economy 7 plan) in order to save money.

The property has an electric boiler - Santon PremierPlus Direct Unvented Hot Water Cylinders. I tried to have a look around the boiler, but couldn't find anything that will help me set the timing of water heating during the night. I have no clue how do I go about it?

Any help/direction will be very much appreciated.

A question about : FIRST HOME/FIRST GAS BILL- advice needed please!

Hi all,

My wife and I have moved into our first home. It's a 3 bed new build, mid terrace. It's well insulated and we have the gas central heating on a few hours morning and evening.

We've had a current bill through and I wanted advice on the amount of gas we've used- in 24 days: (Our gas and electric are supplied by E.ON)

ELEC Ј24 - That's OK.
GAS Ј65.40 - about 1500 kWh.

Hi all,

Please go gentle... this is my first ever post on here and I realise that I am way out of my depth on my chosen subject!

DH and I have decided to replace our decrepid gas fire with a stove. The room is inadequately heated, and the house is generally poorly insulated (another project). The flue was built for a open fire originally but the builder stuck in a gas fire.... Whole street is the same, and several neighbours have already gone over to stoves.

A question about : British Gas complaint

I intend raising a complaint with british gas with regards to several Smart metre installation appointments they cancelled on the day of the appointment.Resulting in lost holidays at work and inconveniencing my neighbour as access to her property was required to carry out the work.

I have been offered standard Ј22 compensation but feel this falls way short of the loss of annual leave and inconvenience caused to myself and my neighbour.
