A question about : Warm home discount

Has anybody noticed that if you are eligible for the Warm Home Discount scheme you don't get the Ј140 award till the end of March so if like me you are with a company such as EDF even though you may find cheaper energy rates with other companies before this time unless you can improve on the Ј140 even though EDF doesn't charge a leaving fee you are in effect tied to them. You lose the award if you leave EDF before this time.

• The 2014/2015 Warm Home Discount can be applied anytime between November 2014 and March 2015.
• I appreciate when I can apply. I have been successful in my application. My point is that I will not receive the award till the end of March and until that time I am prevented from moving to another supplier. If I do I would forfeit the Ј140 award.
• I was with EDF until December. I got my Warm Home Discount in mid December. Then I left them.
  It's not rocket science to work it all out in your own favour.
