A question about : British Gas complaint

I intend raising a complaint with british gas with regards to several Smart metre installation appointments they cancelled on the day of the appointment.Resulting in lost holidays at work and inconveniencing my neighbour as access to her property was required to carry out the work.

I have been offered standard Ј22 compensation but feel this falls way short of the loss of annual leave and inconvenience caused to myself and my neighbour.

I'm wondering if anyone has had a successful claim under similar circumstances or if I'm wasting my time?

  • A complaint won't get you much more than you've got so far imho. It certainly won't reach 3 figures.
    If you require compensation for loss of earnings (and can quantify your loss), file a claim at the county court. You'll have to show that you've attempted to mitigate your loss, so perhaps do this after you've gone through the complaints rigamarole.
