A question about : confused new switcher

After being with eon for donkeys years, we have decided to give switching a try. I've sat here and imputed all the information and each company I searched through brought up Scottish Power and a fixed tariff till 2017. Each company searched showed the same tariff amounts and standing charges but each one said we would save a differing amount per year! Ranging from Ј116 to Ј196. Can someone explain how if the tariffs are the same and I've given the same information then how is the difference per year so different?

I moved into a Bellway home in August. Unfortunately we had no say over who supplied our energy. It is now 6 months on and I have not had anything from them - not even a welcome pack.

I have been in touch several times over the phone - each time being told there is no record of me or the serial numbers provided for gas/electric meter. They make me check and then when I clarify the information they tell me it will all be taken care of and a pack will be sent in the post. After doing this 3 times I decided to complain.

A question about : Energy company from previous address demanding money

I have arrived home this evening to a letter from isupplyenergy saying we have an outstanding balance on our previous address of Ј648.56 and we are now been charged Ј15 for late payment.

Now here is the funny thing. We left the property they have listed on the letter five years ago and have never once had a letter from them saying that we have an outstanding.

The old property was a flat that my wife rented out from a letting company and everything was always in her maiden name.

A question about : switching Gas and Electricity could have me money BUT???

I'm currently on the standard variable rate with British Gas and standard energy plan with E-on (Yearly usage is 11610 KWH for gas costing Ј610 and 2,456KWH electricity costing Ј400).

3 different comparison websites all suggest switching would save me approx. Ј265 a year (roughly Ј220 saving on gas and Ј40 on the electricity)

A question about : Anybody switching to Co-op heard from them yet?

Has anybody else who did the Co-op energy switch via the MSE Cheap Energy Club actually heard from them yet? I applied 11 days ago and thought I might have at least had an email by now.

I am about to purchase a pottery kiln with a 15KW/66 amp rating. I have a single phase, 100 amp supply and Scottish Power recently provided me with a 100 amp meter and fuse. (Because of where I live, a three phase supply would cost somewhere in the region of Ј15K - so completely out of the question).

I've just swapped from edf to eon; had a rather annoying on line chat with edf's rep about getting credit back.

I was on DD with edf and will be with eon as well.

Can anyone advise on the industry standard as to how long it should be for the two companies to agree with the readings provided (by me) and subsequently for edf to raise a final bill?

Then how much 'grace period' before edf give me the built up credit back?
