A question about : Cancelling credit cards after transfer

Is it good, bad or doesn't make a difference if you are a credit card tart and cancel each credit card as you transfer the balance from it ?

I am concerned it may affect my credit rating if i close them. I would prefer to close them as so not to have multiple credit cards with no balance on them.

I've always paid my 2 credit cards off in full each month by direct debit. With extra outlay at the moment (moving house!) I wanted to take advantage of a Sainsburys 0% bt. Sainsburys end - no problem. Opposite end - not so easy! First time round my direct debit came out even though I'd transferred the balance in plenty of time. Thankfully I'd left the money in my account in case of problems so I didn't go overdrawn. With a bit of hassle, I managed to get a refund from the original card.

A question about : Lowell portfolio

Hi, am new to all this so please be kind.......
I have just recieved a letter from Lowell Portfolio 1 Ltd saying that they have brought a debt from Capital One regarding 613 pounds. Now i do have a debt with, and poss with interest, do owe Capital One the money ( from about 4 to 5 years ago ).
My question is this.......
Is there any legal way of getting out of paying this?

A question about : How to stop Purchase Interest Charge

Bit of background - I took out a Tesco cc a few months ago. It had a 3 months interest free offer, however I stupidly didn't pay the balance in time, so incurred an interest charge on the statement after that one. I phoned them and they refunded it, and I paid the statement in full.

This month I have another interest charge purchase interest charge.

Hey guys, I'm 18 years old and I need a credit card, as my maestro card isn't cutting it. I'm still at school and I have a part time job. Would any one know of any good credit cards i could apply for?

A question about : Cardguard or credit card theft protection

Hi,

I wondered what Martin had to say about cardguard schemes. CPP currently charges Ј20 per year to protect against you getting bank and credit cards stolen. Is it worth it? Are there any cheaper/better alternatives out there?

I see that there was a thread discussign this but I haven't seen any input from Martin himself on this subject.

The recent rake hikes from cap 1 has brought out alot of people who are borrowing money on sub prime cards which is alarming as Martin states just use the to rebuild your credit.

If people are borrowing on them they can fall in debt and with the high rates risk damaging their credit further rather than getting back into the mainstream.
