A question about : Some advice

Hi All,

Has anyone had any involvements with speaking to credit card companies to negotiate special interest rates etc etc..

To put you in the picture, i'm getting a new flat and need to buy furniture etc and was looking for a way to ask my credit card companies to reduce the interest charges to hopefully 0% in order to complete the purchase. All C/C I hold have a nil balance.

Just a thought.

I've had an idea for some time relating to bouncing credit card balances between 2 normal rate ( not 0% ) cards but never had the bottle to do it.

A question about : Egg anniversary offer

Hi all you knowledgeable people, hopefully some of you can answer a few questions and give me some advice.

This month is my year anniversary of my Egg card, how do I find out about their 5 month 0% offer - should I have heard from them or do I have to contact them.
Now my situation:
In 2 days I'll have a credit limit available on this card of Ј3000.
I also have approx Ј1100 left on my 0% for 13 months Barclaycard
Lastly I have a egg loan (10.9% I think) for approx Ј4000.

A question about : 0% deals

Can credit card companies really make enough money from the people who don't leave and afford to give away the cost of funding all the 0% balances for those people who do? If they're just using their existing customers to fund it, doesn't that mean that people taking multiple 0% deals are just taking it from the people too uninformed to move?

A question about : MBNA.. New application..more info required..

Hi All

I applied for an MBNA Heart Foundation card while I was waiting for my flight in Manchester Airport.

My holiday inadvertantly got extended and apparently they needed to get hold of me.

I got home to a couple of letters a month or so apart saying that they needed more info to process my application.

The second. later letter said that if I called them witing 21 days they would give me Ј15!!! ;D ;D

A question about : Changing cc billing address

Hi everybody,

I've just changed the billing address of my HSBC VISA card to my work address to enable me to get stuff sent to work when the retailer insists on sending goods only to the registered address of the card. The staff at the call centre insist that this change should take place instantly.

A question about : Household income when spouse does not work

I have decided to pause my super tarting activities for a couple of months until one of my cards 0% deal ends.

However, my wife is considering joining the club by applying herself (gulp!). Trouble is she is a non-earning, hard working housewife/mum.

Are there any companies out there which take into account household income rather than just the income of the individual making the application?

If she applies using my income will that affect my credit rating anyway?

A question about : MBNA Transfer fee....how they decide?!

Hi,
Just got off the phone from MBNA seeking to clarify the SBT fee for new accounts.

The lady I spoke to stated that if you have the card with 6 months interest free you will not be charged for the transfer.

However if you have the card with 12 months interest free you WILL be charged a fee.

Does anyone have any experience to back this up?
Hopefully this will resolve the issue if we can confirm what she said with actual anecdotal evidence!
