A question about : Appealing against Incapacity Benefit ceasing

Hi all

I've been off work with depression since March 2007 and signed onto incapacity benefit in October. I went to a medical through the jobcentre last week, which was very quick and not exactly thorough.

A question about : Incapacity Appeals

I am currently in the process of appealing after going for a medical and being turned down.

I do have welfare rights help and am waiting for them to send me some things in. I am also still waiting for a copy of the medical report.

Anyone that has been through an IB appeal what did you say when you put your appeal in? How much information did you give about why you are appealing? Did you put a letter from your GP in with it?

A question about : Will The Bedroom Tax Affect Me?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I live in a 2 bedroom council flat with my 23yr old daughter. I am on ESA and my daughter is on JSA.
In March my daughter is going to spend time with her cousin in Australia. She could be gone for as long as a year. We do not know really how long she will be there.
As her bedroom will be unused while she's in Australia, will I have to pay bedroom tax on her room? I am really worried about this as I am on ESA, money is tight.
I appreciate any help.

A question about : Husband an Expat overseas

I would appreciate any help of guidance on the following:

My husband works overseas and has done so for the past 4 years.

I am now back in the UK with our 3 children and wish to complete the normal tax, benefits admin as required.

It would appear that with my husband outside the UK tax system and me inside it I am treated as a single mother!

A question about : Housing Benefit

I am on a dial up connection so would appreciate ssome help.
It looks like we are going to have to find a new house to rent.
As there are a shortage of 4 bed houses down here the cheapest house we have seen is Ј1100!!!.

I have tried to put amounts into entitledto website but its taking forever.

Just trying to find out approximately how much HB we would get.

A question about : Scares JSA claim might get rejected

Am 19 and I've applied for JSA today I had to do a habitual residence test and am a bit worried I have indefinite leave to enter the UK I came to join my parents when I was 8 years old. My indefinite leave to enter is valid from 04/04/03 to 04/04/04 the expiry date is the last day in which I can enter the uk so it does not mean am an illegal. The woman who did my test said the test is not designed for someone who came here as a child. They have a photocopy of my passport and my indefinite leave to enter as well.
