A question about : New Internal Doors inc Frames & redecoration

We are currently having prices undertaken to replace our door frames, architraves, doors (4 downstairs and 8 upstairs) and also redecoration to the downstairs and upstairs hallway including skim plastering to all walls.

A question about : Whats a fair quote to put in 5 small LED downlights in bathroom?

Hi there,

Thinking of replacing the old downlightts in my bathroom with 5 basic LED downlights.

I will get a electrician to do it, just wondering as the holes are already there for the 5 lights what would be a reasonable cost for an elecrtrician to supply and fit them?

A question about : Boiler Quote

I have received a quote to remove the existing boiler and replace it with a new combi boiler in the loft (current boiler is in master bedroom) I will be getting all the parts so the quote for labour is Ј1430.00 + Ј286 for vat which is Ј1716 total.

Does this sound about right?

A question about : Gas hob

Hi,
I had a new Neff gas hob installed a couple of months ago.
It was a new kitchen extension so new gas pipeline.
From the off it has been temperamental. The ignition sparks and it lights every time and then you have to keep the knob held down for anywhere between 7 seconds and more than a minute.
It's so frustrating!

The quote we've just received is Ј3250 for the rewire (includes consumer unit) and Ј5000 for the GCH installation (includes removal of cold water tank). Another quote we've had for the GCH is just Ј3k (about what we were expecting).

A question about : Quote for single storey rear extension

We've recently been quoted 55k for a single storey brick built rear extension measuring 7.5m x 3m. The project would include knocking down one internal wall, plus the rear wall of the house to make one large open plan kitchen/family room. This cost does not include the new kitchen units and appliances which we are arranging separately. Also we wanted underfloor heating, which we are waiting for the price on.
