A question about : Baffled by Aegon letter -changes to With ProfitsInvestment

I know there is another thread on this, but did not wish to hijack it!!

I've had this Aegon policy since 1990 and despite mediocre performance have hung on in. My NRD is 60 which is June 2016.

Following a discussion in another thread and me dropping subtle hints to Snowman about including drawdown charges in his spreadsheet, then him suggesting I compile the data ... I've attempted to do this for all platforms in his spreadsheet (except Fidelity as they require you to take advice or go via their subsiduary and pay unspecified fees).

Recieved a statement which I requested from an old employer about my pension as to what the value is. Listing ways to take the pension then on another letter Trivial Commutation Lump sum. If I take the lump sum it will discharge the trustees of all liability of the pension scheme. No mention of paying tax . Any one clarify this for me .

Hi,

i will be shortly enrolling into my first pension and had a meeting with my advisor last week.

My company will be paying in 5% and i plan to do the same initially.

now obviously what the pension people will do is invest my money into the market. This is what really interested me as i already have investments.

What i wanted to ask you guys is do i need to tie in my investments into what the pension company are doing with my money ? And how involved do i need to be in my pension ?

Hi, I'd appreciate some opinions and any advice people may have on my wife and my situation please.

We both work for the same company who are restructuring, which will mean redundancies. We both have the opportunity to apply for voluntary redundancy.

I am 57, and have 36 years service, my wife will be 55 later this year and has 30 years service, and we are in a final salary pension, which it has been announced will be closing this year.

Anyone here been through the process? Im about to appeal my initial didn't meet the criteria decision. Would love to chat to anyone who has been through the process.
