A question about : stake versus work

Hello, I have a stakeholder pension and my work has recently enrolled me in a workplace pension.

which am i best paying in to? I currently direct debit in to my stakeholder (not much and its not been for any where near long enough ) but i am wondering if i am better switching that to the workplace one.

I will continue to take part in the workplace one regardless.

A question about : General question on Terminal bonuses

I am trying to understand Terminal bonuses on my Aegon (formerly Scot Equitable Pension) Personal Pension (Group Scheme). See other thread.

How is a terminal bonus calculated?

I have the chart Terminal & Market Value Reduction Rates effective 1 Jan 2015 which lists a monthly % from 1996 to date. Am I right that you multiply the Ј contribution made in each month by this percentage. The total of all these is the sum held back and paid on termination?

A question about : Pension Transfer Value

I have a number of different pension policies.The first policy I took out was in 1988 initially linked to a mortgage. I have not made any contributions for 15 years to this plan. Apart from the poor fund performance and no doubt exorbitant fees, I noticed on my annual statement that the value of the fund that I can transfer to another provider is significantly lower than the current fund value. Is there anything that I can do about this?

I have a deferred DB scheme that covers my employment 82-92 and have recently had an update on estimated pension and the two options I will have at Age 60 (2019).

From the letter:-

Option 1 - Pension of Ј8,897.52 p/a from Age 60.

Option 2 - Tax Free PCLS of Ј29,483.08 plus a reduced pension of Ј4,422.42 p/a.

A question about : Stakeholder Pension Query

I'm 52 and plan to retire at 55. I have a civil service pension that I can take at 55, but I will receive substantially more if I defer until I'm 60, which I intend to do.

As I have Ј1600 disposable income each month which I currently save, I'm looking at putting this into a stakeholder pension for the next 3 years until I retire to build a pot of approx Ј70k to help fund the 5 years between 55 and 60.

A question about : Pension being wound up by PIC

Received a letter saying hubbys pension has a value of 140k. Its in a scheme that is due to be wound up but we want to wait until April and take the money to pay off the mortgage.

After asking for an upto date valuation and telling Mercers that we dont want them to buy an annuity with it on our behalf, they have sent it back to the Pension Insurance Corporation. They in turn have sent us a valuation and the transfer forms for us to transfer the fund to our own choice of provider.

Good morning not entirely sure I am doing this correctly but I am desperately needing contact details for RTZ pensions for a private pension my Mother was receiving but has sadly passed away and I need to inform them .. anybody help cant find anything doing a online search
