A question about : Retrieve cancelled pension from Malta

Can anyone give me any advice as to why a lot of IFA'S are not able to help me transfer my cancelled pension plan from Malta back to the UK (in simple terms please).

A question about : How to forecast pension value?

I have a slight query on how to forecast the pension pot value, the calculators don't seem fit my pension scheme and i think the scheme itself forecasts in the same way as the calculators.

Basically the scheme has age related contribution increases that I don't believe it factors into the forecast:

Age = Employees/Employers
32/33 = 2%/6%
34 = 3%/8%
35/37 = 4%/10%
38/39 = 4.5%/11%
40/49 = 5%/12%
50+ = 6%/14%

A question about : Tax Efficient Options

I will have a pension pot of 500k to take when I turn 55 and this needs to last me ten years.
I want to take an income of 40k a year from this over those ten years in the most tax efficient way that I can.
Any ideas on this?

I would appreciate some suggestions/clarifications on the below

I'm currently 62, probably carry on working till 65, 40% tax payer, have a Standard Life personal DC pension, both firm and I pay in 6%

In addition I currently save Ј600 / month (could do more)
I would be better off increasing the pension payments by that much rather than saving it externally - wouldn't I ?

I am a former UK civil servant, now retired. I worked overseas for a significant part of my career (some 18 out of 33 years) but throughout was regarded as UK resident, paid in sterling and taxed in the UK. I have a full NI contributions record, which I believe entitles me to a full state pension from age 65.

My wife is 63 and is a non-taxpayer

I understand that she can contribute up to Ј3,600 gross (Ј2,880 net) to a pension this tax year

When and in what circumstances would she be able to withdraw the whole Ј3,600 tax free assuming she remains a non-taxpayer?
