My dad has recently moved permanently into a Nursing Home which is providing him with 24/7 personal care.

He is not self funded but being supported by local council funding; is it possible for me to claim (on his behalf) for an Attendance Allowance ? which can then go towards the Nursing Home fees.

Sheltered Housing

A question about : Sheltered Housing

Hello everyone, I hope this is the correct forum for my problem/question.

We live in a mixed sheltered housing scheme made up of flats and bungalows. We're in a bungalow. When we moved in 10 years ago the kitchen was fitted with a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. I understand that the flats were similar.

Now the HA are taking both away. The extinguisher and the blanket.

Cheap Lurpack Butter

A question about : Cheap Lurpack Butter

I was in Asda in Poole yesterday, and, as usual, a 500g pack of Lurpack Butter was Ј3.25, or on special offer of two for Ј5.

However, immediately above these were 1Kg packs of the same thing for Ј3 each! I bought two.

So take your choice - Ј3.25 for 500g or Ј3 for 1Kg.

Talk about crazy pricing! But get it whilst you can.title=Smile

Got another job!

A question about : Got another job!

Having retired in 2004, living in Spain for eight years not working and then returning to the UK and becoming a professional Home/Petsitter at the age of 62 in 2012, I now have a second job title=Smile. This one is voluntary.

I'm going to be working for a Christians Against Poverty Job Club, run by our church. I'm going to be a Jobclub Coach, helping people to access the internet, help with literacy and numeracy if required and help into jobs or education or training.
