A question about : Spouse Pensions After Death

My wife and I are both retired and receiving State Pensions (from our own individual National Insurance Contributions )

I also receive a Private Pension.

If I die first , I know that my wife will receive 50% of my Private Pension but will she be entitled to any allowance or further pension (Widow`s Pension ?) from the State based on my NICs?

Similarly if she dies first , will I be entitled to anything?

A question about : Warm Home Discount?

My parents qualify for the Warm Home Discount payment of Ј135 from their utility supplier as they receive pension credit and are over 75. I've seen several online advice sites say there is no need to apply as it will be automatic because the utility company will receive details of all its customers who are entitled and so payment will be automatic, but confusingly, I've just looked at their supplier's website and it is asking customers to apply.

A question about : purchased parents property instead of equity release

Hi can anyone give me some advise

i purchased my parents house 14 years ago for the same value and on the same understanding as an equity release company had quoted them, as i had come into some money. I thought it was good for them as they had a mortgage given to them in there 70's which they could no longer afford and needed to release the equity to pay it off h and it seem a good long term investment for me.

A question about : Bison Bede stair lift

I have a stair lift which I want to sell, hardly used and is in VGC. I got it in 1999 and was wondering if these lifts can be serviced or repaired if necessary. It is in perfect working order at the moment.

Are there any websites which specialize in selling these?

A question about : Selling a French property

Hi, haven't been on here for a while but was hoping someone could give me some advice. We have had a property in France for over 12 years now and the original plan was to retire to France but realise now we would never be able to live there full time and costs of keeping the property are now outweighing our use of it so we want to sell. I know there will be tax implications but does anyone know of a way of minimising them e.g. If we were to become resident for a time. Thanks in advance for any advice.
