What would be the best way of going about finding out what is the cheaper option for a company? The costs of running a pool car for business use or paying mileage to employees who use their own car? Also, what is a car allowance?

A question about : tips on buying a second hand Van

I finally passed my driving test few weeks ago on the 14th attempt! Now I'm looking to buy a second hand van with a budget of around Ј3500. Hope thats decent. Any tips and advice for a newbie like me. This will be my first vechicle.

Should I avoid the ones with over 100k milage?
If a van is 10 years old, how much longer can I expect to last?

A question about : DMF vs. Solid.

A neighbour with an Avensis had DMF problems and had it replaced by a solid clutch/flywheel assembly. He says that he can't feel any additional vibration as a result. Is this general experience? If so why do manufacturers instal DMF,s?

I’ve never bought a car using anything other than cash and bank loan/HP before.
I have a preference towards wanting to own and buy car B in my example but my prejudice against PCP is not based on anything scientific, I’m just set in my ways!
The cars are the same make and spec , both would be on 20,000 a year mileage PCP which is based on past experience, but it may end up nearer 15,000. Both have a similar deposit figure.

A question about : New (Used) Car

Hi,

I am hopefully picking up a car today.

I will insure it immediately when I buy it, and try and tax it.

I can see on the .gov website that I can apply for tax as a new keeper using the V5C/2 code on their website, but will it allow me to do this given that the MID will not have been updated as I would have only just bought the insurance minutes previously. The car is not currently insured by the current owner.

I have googled this, and can only find the new tax rules but can not find the answer re the insurance.

Hi are there any car seat fitting experts on here who could help please or perhaps another Juke owner....

We need to buy the next stage car seat and want a rear facing one as these are safer. For some reason this country is ridiculously behind on this and hardly anywhere stocks them making it difficult for us to try one out first.

I have been looking at the maxi-cosi Mobi but I can't find whether it would fit a Juke and also worried about how far forward the passenger seat would have to be to fit it in.

A question about : NIP for using handheld whilst driving

So last night on the way back from work I was driving in crawling raffic and my mobile was poking into my right thigh.

I used my right hand to remove it from my pocket, allways kept one hand on the wheel and I drive an automatic BMW.

rested it on my lap and when I went to lift it onto the recess bulkhead where the sat nav thing is, I prefer it there because I can see out corner of my eye on reflection who it is thats calling.

I have a bluetooth hands free by the way
