Motorists, have you removed your paper tax disc from your windscreen yet?

A question about : Motorists, have you removed your paper tax disc from your windscreen yet?

/
According to a poll by the AA of nearly 20,000 members, just 20% has removed the paper tax disc from car windscreens.

Have you taken yours out since the need for paper discs was removed or is it just too hard to let it go after all these years?

Do driving test examiners prefer driving schools?

A question about : Do driving test examiners prefer driving schools?

As well as learning in his own car, son took a couple of lessons from a driving school to get tweaked for the test and was considered ready for test. He has daily driving pratice and having been alongside him throughout his learning (I have 32 years driving experience in the UK, Europe, parts of Africa and India), I was confident in his abilities of being a safe and competent driver.

Driving Licence Renewal for the 60+'s

A question about : Driving Licence Renewal for the 60+'s

My driving licence (the paper part of a photocard licence) is very tatty & expires in November. We are having overseas driving holidays before then & I would prefer a licence that wasn't falling to pieces.

Am I right in thinking that for a 62 year old the licence will expire when I am 70 regardless of whether I renew it now or November & that the cost will be the same?

I don't find the information on the DVLA website easy to understand!

Private number plate stolen.

A question about : Private number plate stolen.

Hi
I recently sold my car to a buyer but didn't put my plates on retention before the sale was complete. I put on the receipt that the 'plate was not included in the sale' but after speaking to the DVLA they said i should have retained it before i sold it.... They did say that if i can get the new owner to transfer it, that would be the only way.

Car accident insurance replacing one tyre?

A question about : Car accident insurance replacing one tyre?

Just a quick question.I had a non fault accident where a car hit the side of me on a motorway.

Anyway, their insurance company has agreed to replace one tyre and refurb the same alloy wheel due to the impact.

My question is should they replace both rear tyres on a fast real wheel drive sports car rather than just one?

The reason I ask is that one brand new rear tyre replaced with the other on 4mm(plenty of life left) presumably does not have the same grip?(all my tyres were on exactly 4mm)

Large family car recommendations

A question about : Large family car recommendations

We had a zafira and absolutely loved it but it was not so reliable and we had to scrap it aged 9. We want another car with as much luggage space as the zafira because we camp and have 3children. I want something safe and reliable but my budget us only around Ј5000. Any ideas? There are so many options, I don't know where to start

Average speed camera help please

A question about : Average speed camera help please

Just driving down the motorway and some roadworks start which I forgot about, the weather was bad and never noticed the sign. I went through the first average speed camera I think I was probably speeding at the time. I then left the motorway immediately after the first one where it goes back to national speed limit, the roadworks continue on the motorway I have left. As only going through one camera am I still likely to be in trouble?

Thanks
