A question about : Booked for using mobile while stationery

I have a friend who came out of a building and got into his car, which was parked on a main road. He started the car first to warm it up (diesel car) and texted his office that he was on his way. Suddenly he was approached by a West Yorkshire Police officer and booked for 'using a mobile whilst driving'.
He had his handbrake on and had not put car in gear; only engine was running to allow car to warm up. Its a bit harsh to get booked for that?

A question about : Renault Clio 1600 Dynamique Oil Leak???

Hello everyone,

I am hoping somebody on here can help me with this problem. I have a Renault Clio 1600 Dynamique with an 04 plate. Just had it serviced and MOT'd with some major repairs, brakes, discs, front drive shafts, tyres and basically probably spent more on it than the car is actually worth.

But the car is running sweet as a nut and it is in very good condition with low mileage and I like driving it so reluctant to sell it, but don't want to be spending another fortune on any more repairs.

I'm looking for advice on the best way to handle the following what happened to me yesterday evening in Bournemouth/Poole.

I was driving through a part of Bournemouth where i see a couple of drunk people moving cones and road signs.

What I didn't see was that just before I passed by where they were stopped that they had collapsed a couple of triangular roadwork's signs and led them in the road. I drove over them much to their amusement.

A question about : Timing belt changed now loss of power

HI I had the timing belt, water pump and drive belt changed on my peugeot 807 yesterday by a mobile mechanic. Drove for the first time today and there is a severe loss of power at higher speeds and car appears to be drinking more diesel. Car was fine before this work so Im sure it must be connected. Cant get hold of mechanic until tomorrow, but is this a common issue after a timing belt change? if so, what could have happened?
