Best Savings Option for 13 year old

A question about : Best Savings Option for 13 year old

I have just over 4K that I want to invest for my daughter. I'll likely leave it there until she's 21 years old. Also looking to add Ј25 pm, although I'm flexible on that.

I believe she has a basic savings account with halifax but presumably with a low rate of interest.

What shall I do with it?

Pestpns Blog on BBC

A question about : Pestpns Blog on BBC

Is this not slightly concerning? With the exception of the US it appears the rest of the planet is living on an economic time-bomb. Some are saying that due to the banks being bailed out the crash never really happened. China is a real concern. Should we all just cash in our pensions and investments now?

ps

apologies for the spelling error in the title. Would a kind admin change it for me?

Can i transfer some ISA money to open new ISA.

A question about : Can i transfer some ISA money to open new ISA.

I have used up my cash ISA allowance this tax year.
I want to open a new cash ISA elswhere where i can put in a smallish amount.
As its a transfer, does it not count as new money in a new isa? and when the new tax year starts i am looking at a Stocks and share isa with the old ISA money, and just keeping the smallish transfered money in the new cash ISA.
Does that sound ok.

Cash ISA qu

A question about : Cash ISA qu

Hi, just completed 1st year of using Cash ISA and had a question.

So I look at cash isas and the same people come up (providers) near the top of the list, many with intro bonuses.

So I want to switch each year to the best one.

Now the question is say I have one this year with nationwide, I transfer that to say halifax next year, then the year after nationwide is again the best one, can I go back to a previous provider? Or can you only use each provider once?

Thanks

Cash ISA to Current Account

A question about : Cash ISA to Current Account

Hi there,

Don't know if this is something that's been asked before, but it seems like something really difficult to search for!

I'm a bit green on all details and bank stuff if I'm totally honest, so I might be asking something really stupid!

My girlfriend currently has 2 separate accounts, one current account at one bank (Bank A) and a Cash ISA at another (Bank B).

So, she's been saving money for a while and wants to transfer a significant amount from her ISA to her current account.

Transfer Cash ISAs Discussion Area

A question about : Transfer Cash ISAs Discussion Area

Just like to point out a problem with your Icesave's top paying ISA. Looks like the interest has to be drawn iether monthly or yearly, so if this being the case anyone transfering a large ISA and having to draw the interest and not being allowed to compound would mean the yearly ISA allowance plus compounded interest would be drastically reduced!

Transferring overseas shares into a Stocks & Shares ISA

A question about : Transferring overseas shares into a Stocks & Shares ISA

I have inherited a number of shares in BHP Billiton held in Australia which pay dividends twice per year in AU$. Can these shares be transferred into a UK ISA wrapper or will I need to sell them in Australia and re-buy them via the UK stock exchange?
