Reviews on A J Bell

A question about : Reviews on A J Bell

Evening,

Following my last post on here, I have shortlisted A J Bell to manage my ISAs. At the moment, I have funds with HL and with my plan to move into ITs, I am looking to

1. Sell all my funds within the HL ISA to have Ј22k in cash
2. Initiate a cash ISA transfer with AJ Bell
3. Once transferred, bulk invest Ј22k across 3 or 4 ITs
4. Start regular monthly IT investments through A J Bell

HI,

i have filled up my allocation for my cash ISA for this year, and i am now interested in the share ISA part. I would like to invest in Taiwan through this, either through a fund or through a Index Tracker of the Taiex Index? is there any way that this can be done? if so, who offers this?

thanks in advance!

ISA advice

A question about : ISA advice

Hi

I have Ј1000 currently saved (in a current account) and can save Ј500 a month for at least next 2 years and 7 months.

Is it best to open an ISA now or wait til new tax year?

Thanks!

Best answers:

  • An ISA is almost certainly not the best place for your money. Look at regular savings accounts and interest paying current accounts. E.g. TSB, FlexDirect, Club Lloyds, Tesco, 123.

2010 Clydesdale 5 year ISA Bond FURTHER Lock In

A question about : 2010 Clydesdale 5 year ISA Bond FURTHER Lock In

Just a reminder to the many who took out the above ISA Bond in 2010
Your money will be automatically locked into a new rate rather than placed in an easy access pot if a six-week window of opportunity to move it is missed. title=EEK!

Not sure if an ISA is for me...

A question about : Not sure if an ISA is for me...

Hey there,

I'm a student and I'm just starting to buy some investments. I was planning on buying some Index funds, but I'm unsure on whether it'd be worth putting it in an Investment ISA.

All of the sites I can find have various charges associated with setting up an ISA with them, some are percentage on investment, some are flat rates. I'm not going to be investing a substantial amount to begin with (I'm a student after all) so I'm worried that the extra costs would cannibalise my initial investments.

ISA season is nearly upon us, so should you open one? Or should you save in an interest paying bank account instead?...

Lost ISA and no paper trail

A question about : Lost ISA and no paper trail

I have been having a massive declutter. And found paper work for a very old ISA share account.

I have found nothing to say I cashed it in. But I could have done. No statements or anything. But seeing as I am keep everything and just in the process of shredding paper work from 1999 and hence I found it.

I have spoken to the company concerned and they have been taken over by someone else. It seems in 2004 another company took over the some of there investments.

Tax Exempt Savings Plans [TESPs]

A question about : Tax Exempt Savings Plans [TESPs]

what do people here think of these plans, exclusively available via Friendly Societies?

Under current legislation the maximum individual investment in a tax exempt savings plan, which is a type of qualifying policy with a special tax status, is Ј25 per month or Ј270 annually.

this is in addition to an ISA allowance.
