A question about : Book on Roses

Recommendations please for a detailed book on Roses - in particular their care and maintenance throughout the year. I'm not looking for a publication that lists all types of roses and their merits.

I do have the Rose Expert book by Hessayon which is good but basic so I want a more detailed one.

A question about : Slow Grow Grass

Would anyone here have recommendations on a slow-grass grass?

A few tips to save money in the garden:

Instead of buying seed trays for sowing seeds cut the bottoms of plastic milk cartons. Also I use containers which previously had cherry tomatoes in, purchased from Lidl. These already have drainage holes in so are ideal. Cotton bud containers are also good. You can also try egg cartons but these do tend to get fungal infections when wet.

A question about : Greenhouse shading paint?

Greenhouse is getting too hot and I've run out of greenhouse shading paint to whitewash the glass.
Does anyone know a way of making this yourself?

• Windolene is about the cheapest I know of.
• Isn't this just whitewash? Slaked lime and water? If you search for whitewash recipes a lot come up.

A question about : greenfly epidemic, no.......!!!!

Help, my poor roses are being invaded by blinkin greenfly. What can I use to get rid off, I dont want to use any pesticides, 'cos of my little dog. The rose buds are literally covered with g.fly- any pet freindly way of disposing with them??
