A question about : executor question

I have a situation whereby the executor refuses to deal with a deceased estate but says will take any benefits he will be entitled to as the sole beneficiary ! I understand because of this inaction the deceased net assets will eventually go to the treasury.
My question is if you were me ( last living relative ) what would you do ?

A question about : Who inherits?

Please can someone help me, in the event of 3 family members dying together in an accident, would the oldest person be considered to die have died first and the younger family members to have inherited so their wills become relevant?

A question about : Inheritance tax

My mum has died and we think the estate will be due to pay inheritance tax. I have read that I have to declare her property in Spain for this purpose, along with other assets. The house is left to me in her Spanish will. Does the fact that she has a Spanish will mean that I will pay tax in Spain on the house and not here? I also read that you shouldn't be taxed on foreign property in 2 countries. So do I still need to declare it here?

Ex wife died last week, in reality no real estate as living in rented, no goods worthy of sale or cash in the bank etc, Our Daughter is the next of Kin and helping deal with it all, we are aware that all the unsecured debt will need to be written off by the creditors and will be writing to them to let them know the situation.

A question about : House in probate but brother threatening to move in.

How do I stand, my parents house is in probate with my brother and I as inheritors. The problem is that my brother has defaulted on his own mortgage and is being evicted so he has said he intends to move into the house immediately. Where does this leave me over my share of the house?

I changed the locks recently as people with keys were going in and helping themselves to items. He says that if I do not give him a key to move in tomorrow he will just break in.

Can anybody recommend a good book that covers the duties of an executor and probate in detail?. There seems quite a few on Amazon but a lot do not make it clear whether they are for the UK, which is obviously what I need, I not want to make the mistake of buying a USA book. Thanks in advance.

A question about : just sent off Letters of Admin forms, how long till interview?

im wondering how long it takes for the interview appointment to come through after sending the forms back. do they send you a specific date or can you phone them when ready?
