This post is to tell you about Different Strokes, the charity I am involved with.

Different Strokes works with younger stroke survivors - that's anyone under the age of 65, including children. So there are TWO reasons for this post...

The first is to encourage you to donate! - as we are a smallish charity (albeit with a very large membership) and really short of money

A question about : 10,000 mile cycle ride for cancer

Please take time to check out this site, it is about a friend of mine's son, who has given up his job and time to cycle 10,000 miles around Europe to try and raise at least Ј1 per mile, for Cancer Uk. The site has a diary of his day by day journey (well worth a read), plus many other things as well a page for donations.

A question about : Recycling your old mobiles for Macmillan Cancer Relief

Hi Everyone

I have checked with the forum and I have been told I can add this item to the Charities board.

I have set up links with a company who will donate Ј4 for evey old handset I collect and donate it to charity. I am walking part of the Great Wall of China in September and I have set up my own web page at justgiving.com and I have raised Ј1800 so far.

5 million of the UK population suffers from Skin Disease, even you or someone close to you maybe, so what will YOU be doing for Skin in 2006?

In an attempt to raise awareness and cash to fund research, I will be joining 1000s of others walking for healthy skin all over the UK in May.

There is a new scheme which will allow any individuals to nominate a charity to receive their tax repayments as a donation.
