In case anyone wondered

A question about : In case anyone wondered

After a May 2008 BR, I had a Barclays bank account within a year, a Vanquis card soon after, I now also have a Barclaycard and Aqua (all paid off monthly), I got HP for car insurance by instalments and bought a Nikon DSLR camera on HP, and next month ive got a new 15 plate Ј20K arriving on low rate finance, so there you go, BR is NOT the end, use it as a fresh start......

Copies of forms 6.27 & 6.28

A question about : Copies of forms 6.27 & 6.28

Do these two forms need photocopies made or can I just write them both out twice ?

Also; I'm confused how many copies I need?

Is it ONE copy or TWO copies of the original ?

See below for why I'm confused about how many copies I should take tothe court (yes, I'm going to a county court).

Thanks.

Made bankrupt Dec not had call from OR

A question about : Made bankrupt Dec not had call from OR

I was made bankrupt in Dec last year and I have just had one form over Christmas that i filled in but nothing further from the OR.

Had a credit check done at work that shows the Bankruptcy but it shows at Ј0 (I had already informed work). Not sure if I should be worried or not.

My hubby went bankrupt in 2013 as he developed Rheumatoid arthritis and had to give up work. We have no assests, no savings, no car and I explained the reason why I didnt do it in 2013 was because we couldnt afford two.

Telling the bank about bankruptcy

A question about : Telling the bank about bankruptcy

Hi All

I have been bankrupt since the 29th of Jan and have opened a Barclays basic account a couple of days ago with my OR's knowledge.
My OR said to me that if the bank asks if I have been bankrupt or asks me to sign a form which asks if I have been bankrupt that I should say yes, Which of course is a very sensible thing to do.

Reasons for your BR

A question about : Reasons for your BR

We always refer posters to Beth's guide for the pointers and is still relevant 5 years on.
Beth's Guide Reasons for your BR - Click here

Is there any pointers you can give too? What helped you? What advice would you give to those filling in that section on your 6.28 SOA form?

My advice would be, put down which Debt charity, IP, Accountant or Solicitor advised you BR was one of your options, as the Judge will always ask this.

BR Friendly Bank Accounts ~ [Updated Sep 2012 re: Co-op Cashminder withdrawal]

A question about : BR Friendly Bank Accounts ~ [Updated Sep 2012 re: Co-op Cashminder withdrawal]

With immediate effect (from September 17, 2012) the Co-operative bank is no longer accepting new customers who are un-discharged bankrupts, this decision does not affect the bank's existing customers.

------ > The Co-operative Banking Group - News 2012

Since the recent press release the Co-op has assured other posters that if you open a Cashminder account with them, then go BR they will keep your account open.

Mortgages after bankruptcy

A question about : Mortgages after bankruptcy

Is there an easy way to find out how long after bankruptcy individual lenders will issue a mortgage?

From speaking with financial advisors I know that I am able to get a mortgage but each one I've spoken to has said that each lender has it's own criteria which is usually 1, 3 or 6 years after discharge. If there's an easy way to see which are worth looking at then that would be good. I obviously don't want any rejections on my credit record, which I've taken so long to clean up.

Many thanks.
