American Express Gold, vs an Airline card

A question about : American Express Gold, vs an Airline card

Hi all,

New to this, so bare with me.
My job involves 5-6 long haul flights a year. I have become used to business class, and cannot contemplate flying economy long haul when going on holiday.

So given I travel a lot and will therefore spend a lot:

1. I can benefit from cards that offer higher rewards for foreign expenditure

2. I can forgo my company credit card and stick everything in my own card to rack up points

Halifax 0% fee refund

A question about : Halifax 0% fee refund

Just had an offer of 15 months from an old Halifax card - fee is 3% but half of that is refunded after 30 days which really makes it quite tempting, especially as another card balance 0% is coming to an end - but am I missing a trick with the refund? Shame they can't just charge 1.5%

Question About Stoozing

A question about : Question About Stoozing

I cant get my head around how you actually make money out of it.

The best fixed rate account is 2.05%

The best rate balance credit card is 2.99% fee.

So surely all the money you make at the end of the year is wasted when you balance transfer onto the next card.

Please could someone correct me if im missing something.

Thanks Chris.

Amazon Mastercard Closed

A question about : Amazon Mastercard Closed

Hello all,

I currently use an Amazon Mastercard which is soon to be converted to a regular MBNA card due to their association with coming to an end. I used the Amazon card for most of my purchases as I shop on Amazon a lot.

I also have an (old) Amex Platinum Cashback Card which has no monthly fee but a cash back rate of 0.5% up to Ј3500 per year (1% for purchases between Ј3500 and Ј10 000, and 1.5% for purchases over Ј10k). I have to reach a threshold of Ј25 to get the cash back each year.

Is it worth stoozing when on Child/Working tax credits?

A question about : Is it worth stoozing when on Child/Working tax credits?

Hi, I understand the concept of stoozing and am more than willing to give it a go but I was wondering how much the extra income would affect your tax credit payments. as all interest unless its an ISA (which all have rubbish interest rates compared to the current accounts on offer).

Surely the benefit will be greatly diminished by the loss of tax credits?
