A question about : Credit card points on debit balances?

Hello all,

Hoping someone may be able to help me with an idea I have.

I am due to be buying a car in the next couple of months for my new job, as part of my job I will be paying out expenses which I will later claim back. I decided getting a new credit card, just for work would make sense. Looking in to all the cards, an Amex BA air miles card looks best for me. In order to boost my points I wondered about buying my car on it and paying it off instantly.

A question about : Which way to pay

I need to make a payment in a couple of weeks and as I see it have 3 options:

1 pay from savings invested in premium bonds which have averaged 1.2% apr return over the 8 months I've held them;

2 pay from stoozed funds (i.e. not my money) I have invested in ISA's at 3%, the stoozed funds are not repayable for 18 months which is perfectly feasible;

A question about : Sainsburys credit card refusal to close account

Sainsburys bank are refusing to close my credit card even after 6 months of trying because they owe me Ј1.47. (They took too much money when I asked to settle and close the account) They wont issue this to me due to the small sum, nor can they write it off/give to charity. The card has expired, so cant use it and no replacement can be sent as I've asked them to close the account. I've asked them every other month since Dec '13 to close it.
What do I do?
