A question about : self employed nurse quandry

I am a registered nurse. Ive just signed up with an agency to enable me to gain flexibility with working hours etc. There seem to be a few nurses who are self employed, I am just wondering what the benefits are of this? I am paye with the agency currently and know nothing about self employment. Does anyone have any advice of the benefits/pitfalls of changing to self employment? Financially would I be better/worse off?

A question about : Good Home Office Desk?

I have been looking online for an office desk for in the home, maybe 2, but all of the desks i see look horrid.

I've looked on the ikea website, they're well priced, but they don't look that nice.

Can anyone recommend a desk that is big enough for laptop, printer, paper work etc that looks nice but also doesn't cost the earth?

A question about : accounts preparation business

Just looking for some advice or a point in the right direction. I'm just about to qualify as a chartered accountant having worked as an auditor for 3 years.

I have a new job but was hoping to do some accounts preparation for very small companies. Essentially one man bands that just pay themselves through a dividend.

If selling a business in a rented property are there any costs involved in passing over the lease to the new owner? Who is liable to pay these costs?

A question about : Unpaid Class 2 NIC

I have been a sole trader since 2000. I have submitted yearly tax returns and paid both tax due and Class 4 NIC
I can't believe how stupid I have been because as of today I was totally unaware of Class 2 payments. I therefore have 14/15 years of unpaid contributions. As I am only two years away from pensionable age what do I do, what penalties should I expect, any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

I am after a little advice really. For the past 4 years we have rented a shop from a landlord that is less than professional when conducting it's business practices (very emotionally driven). I guess we see more of that due to their office being next door to our shop!

A question about : Accepting payments through another business.

Hi, would it be possible to accept a card payment through the business next door and for them to pass on the money to me? This would mean I wouldn't have to invest in the card payment tech.
