Hi..is it possible to transfer S&S already owned into a S&S ISA? Inherited shares worth approx Ј14,500 and don't need to access funds for a few years and haven't used up this tax year's ISA allowance..any advice? Many thanks!

I recently received a smallish inheritance after my aunt passed away, so I'm thinking about investing a bit of the inheritance in a stocks and shares ISA.

I've been doing a bit of research around the best way to do it and what to actually invest in, but was wondering whether you could give me a bit of a steer on which company I should invest through.

I'm hoping to take part in my new employer's share save scheme in a few months time.

My plan is to put the maximum monthly amount into a 3 year plan. If, after a year, the share vale has dropped Id simply withdraw from the scheme and then go for the maximum amount in 2016 instead.

I have a cheque issued by a foreign bank in it's local currency in my name. My question is if I put it into my bank account in the UK will I be taxed on this (it's a largish amount)?

It's not money earned whilst working abroad, it's savings that have slowly built up since I was a kid.

Never dealt with foreign money in this way so would like advice please.

A question about : Investing Ј1000

Hi All

I am looking to invest around Ј1000 - Ј2000 pound and would appreciate some advise.
I already have a Cash Isa which I have around Ј9,700 in and am not sure if I should put the money into that.

I am prepared to take a bit of a risk on the Ј1000 but cant decide where I would like to invest the money. I don't really know enough about shares but would be prepared to invest in the share market.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
