A question about : 6% First Direct savings account coming to an end; can I open another?

Hi all

My 6% First Direct savings account has reached maturity and I've received the interest payment. If I want to open another account to achieve the same 6% interest rate for the next year, how do I go about doing this? I understand I can only have one of these accounts at a time, so does that mean I have to withdraw the funds and close the account and then setup a new one?

A question about : NS&I index linked saving certificates.

I invested Ј15000 in May 2011, for a 5 year term.
I did an estimate on the NS&I website which gives me an estimated figure of Ј16554 at the present time.
I will be leaving the money in for the full 5 year term. I know it's impossible to fully know what the yield will be after 5 years because of the uncertainties of the RPI rate.
However, I was wondering what members would be hoping to come out with on maturity if they've invested a similar amount.

A question about : Guidance needed

Hi all

Just wondering if there are any currency market experts out there that may be able to give me a little guidance.

I currently have a significant amount of Euros just sitting in a UK bank account earning no interest at all. My long term goal (perhaps 1-2yr) is to eventually convert those savings into Australian dollars (since I will be moving to Aus sometime this year/next year and will then eventually look into purchasing property in Aus).

A question about : 6% first direct regular saver or s&s isa

We are hopefully paying off our mortgage in the next month or so
We wanted to invest our monthly payments and we're wondering if paying into the first direct regular saver then at the end of the term transferring to a s&s isa would be a better investment than paying monthly to a s&s isa?

Any ideas?

A question about : Best way to invest Ј50 pm

Hi,

I would like some advice on how to invest the above.

I'm 44 and currently envisage drawing my lgps at 65. Due to recently taking VR (after 26 yrs) and seeking a new and less well paid career (still contributing to lgps), I can afford to put away Ј50 per month which I would like to invest over the next 15 to 20 years in order to build up a fund which I could then use to retire slightly earlier. Hopefully this contribution could be increased slightly each year.

A question about : Pensioner Bonds vs. Premium Bonds

Of no great consequence but I am interested in what you think about the Pensioner Bonds, less fun than Premium Bonds ??
