pensioner bonds

A question about : pensioner bonds

I can't believe how incredibly complicated they have made it to register for these bonds - multiple questions, timeouts, passwords, etc etc. Then if you try to ring their number - forget it! My sister and I have both tried, without success, and now given up. Has anyone else experienced this? It's crazy (especially when you consider these bonds are for the over 65's only!).

What is the best long term investment?

A question about : What is the best long term investment?

Good evening. I am looking to invest 40-50k and I'm looking at it as a 20 year investment. Would I be better going for a investment management company and investing the lot, getting a buy to let mortgage and let somebody pay my mortgage off or go into stocks and shares myself? I know it's all a bit of a lottery but what is your suggestion? I'm looking to do this every three years or so. Thanks.

Advice required

A question about : Advice required

Morning All

Just some friendly advice required.
OH and I and Baby FLC are in this current situation:

Mortgage: Ј101,000 - 2.59% interest fixed for two more years
ISA: Ј7,000 1.49% tax free
TSB 5% interest account: Ј1,000

We are currently planning to add a brother or a sister for baby FLC.

My job is uncertain though - likelihood is a choice to take Ј180 per month pay cut - with a lump some of around Ј5500 (two years of pay difference)
Or redundancy.
