Coventry Building Society have launched a new bond. It is only available to those who have been members for at least 5 years. It seems to be a carbon copy of the members bond which Nationwide were offering a few weeks ago.

A question about : Georgeson shareholder

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum but hopefully it is!

Yesterday I received a letter from Georgeson shareholder about an apparent unclaimed investment listed in my full name at an address in London. The letter went on to say they were attempting to find this person to have the funds allocated and so on. I have never lived in London, so in short I'm not the person they are looking for so they must be spamming every person they can find with my name.

My worry is....

A question about : Icesave compensation payouts... how to keep the pressure up

I was asked on another thread what MSE would be doing to help in the campaign to get Icesavers their money back.

The first thing to say is we have a binding promise from the Chancellor made numerous times that ALL monies that were in Icesave will be covered (and so there's no doubt this means above the Ј50,000 limit too). The key question though is when.

A question about : Lloyds Action Now

I have some Lloyds shares and just received a mailing from a group called Lloyds Action Now - the letter states that they are attempting to raise a group action against Lloyds to get compensation for the loss of equity on their shares, claiming that they were misled by Lloyds, HBOS, governement etc over the merger of Lloyds and HBOS and had they known all the facts would have had a chance to oppose the merger, or at the lease sell their shares before they crashed (currently worth about 70p per share, previously about Ј4 per share).

A question about : Investment Management Certificate (IMC)

Not sure whether this is the best place to post this, but seeing as though it has to do with investments I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it!

I was just wondering if anyone on here had done the IMC? I've seen a few people that say they are studying for CFA, but has anyone done this as a pre-requisite or as a stand alone thing?

A question about : Towry Law

I have a Ј100,000 to invest and have not used an IFA before.

I have had a meeting with a chap from Towry Law who has said that they can manage my funds for a 1% plus start-up fee plus 1% plus VAT pa to manage the funds and that I should expect other pa charges such as fund charges to take the total costs each year to 2%.

He seemed a nice chap and reaasured me that Towry Law don't take commissions etc.

A question about : Icesave (waste Of Time)

Hello All,

I thought you guys might be interested that ICESAVE seems to be a total waste of time. Their customer service is extremely poor and it seems impossible to remove funds from your account if you didn't fill in their optional direct debt mandate during the account creation process!

Not a happy customer at all!
