i have recently applied for a cahoot account setting up direct debit online.

I recieved an email today that they have sent a secure message to confirm the direct debit details.

What is this secure message ? How and where should i check it ? Can somebody please tell ?

A question about : USD bank account

Which is the best bank to open a USD $ bank account with? I have read and called around and the charges on having a $ account are very high. I would like to open a $ account but not be charged to use my own money... anybody have any ideas? ???

• Citibank has no charges, I believe, if you maintain a minimum balance in all accounts of Ј2K.
• Yeh Citibank, you don't need to keep your Ј2k in dollars

I'm looking to invest Ј50 per month for a newly born child to enter higher education at the age of 18.

I had thought about ITs with Foreign and Colonial, Witan or Alliance, or possibly a FTSE allshare tracker.

Does anybody have any suggestions regarding other suitable funds.

A question about : ING Savings Account

I opened an ING savings account about a month ago as their interest rate was the best on the market. Just thought I would let the board know that I have just received a letter from them today saying that as the BOE has changed the interest rate ING will be raising their interest rate on savings to 4.7%. WOW, don't get many letters like that from banks!!!!! I'm impressed. :

A question about : ROYAL & SUN ALLIANCE QUERY

I read an article on Sunday regarding RSA and would be obliged if anyone could answer a query. My father in law invested Ј50,000 around 10 years ago with RSA to pay my son's school fees through a Guaranteed School Fees Plan. Should I be worried at all, or was the article nothing to do with this side of RSA's business? Many thanks, worried mum.
