A question about : Ј80k to Invest

Over 12 months ago I sold my house and currently have just over Ј80k to invest. At the time, I put the money into a High Interest Savings account with HSBC. I am happy with the interest I get, but I am sure that I could be getting more from elsewhere - but where?

A question about : Cahoot 5.5%

According to today's Daily Express (no I don't actually read it, i get press cuts at work), Cahoot will tomorrow be launching a new instant access savings account at 5.5% (guaranteed to be at least 5.5% for 12 months). 5.5.% will apply up to Ј50k, 5% on the next Ј200k and 4.5% after that. No limits on deposits and withdrawals.

A question about : Early withdrawal of childrens bonds

16 months ago I placed with Natwest a childrens bond for each of my sons at a value of Ј1000 fixed at 3.75% for 5 years(it seemed a reasonable rate at the time) but now the rates are rising would I be advised to close early, pay any penalty and place the funds elsewhere - and if yes where's the best place to put the boys money

Where can I get a decent rate of interest for a CLUB account.

• I suspect you want what several banks, at least, call a treasurer's account. The rates aren't great, but they aren't terrible, either.

A question about : Mini ISA question

If I open a mini ISA today I know that I cannot open a maxi ISA till next tax year. My question is : if i come into extra money and wish to open a maxi ISA can I close the mini ISA that I have just opened and make way for a maxi ISA?
