A question about : Corporate Saving

Hello,I dont know if this is the correct site or not but our little business have recieved a sum of money which we need to invest for a few months.Our usual corporate savings account with the RBOS offers just over 2%!!!
Can anyone offer or know of anything better?

A question about : Ј15k to save (monthly interest)

I've about Ј15k to put away. Problem is I might need to access it within the next 6 months or so. I looked at the Cahoot offer but it only pays interest annually. Is there a comparable account paying monthly or, forgive my ignorance, if I close an 'annual' account within, say, 6 or 7 months do they pay the interest accrued?

A question about : index linked gilts

Does anyone know the best and cheapest way to buy a substantial amount of Index linked Gilts? Is it best to buy them at issue? When are they issued? I read recently that one should have a major portion of ones investments in these things later in life. As I am coming up to 55, I thought it appropriate to start buying.

A question about : Fund investment

Hi,

I wam plannning to invest in funds for example fidelity special situations fund etc. however these funds have initial charges like 5 % or so.
As i understand that if i buy these funds through some site like https://www.directinvest.co.uk/ or others i will save on the initial charges. Is it safe to invest through these?

A question about : Possibly repeatedly asked question

Not entirely sure how often this has been asked because I haven't been here before, but, I have a cheque for Ј5000, and basically don't know where to put it. I have an ISA which I have filled for this year, and a Barclays current account, but I have no idea where to put this money. I know it isn't a lot which limits options.
Also, I don't earn shedloads of cash either, so again, I am limited in options.

A question about : Inheritance Quandry?

My fathers estate some Ј12,000 is in three share funds.

It has to be split between 4 beneficiaries.

Is it usually more cost effective to sell the shares and split the cash (after deducting fees) or is it better to transfer the ownership of a quarter of each fund and pay the costs.

A question about : paying bank to set up savings account

my mother who is 60 and just retired has been advised by the natwest bank to invest her Ј21000 savings in one of their fund accounts,they advise she will be getting Ј136 per month interest,

but initially she has to pay Ј1000 set up for the fund,and then every year Ј400.00 per annum

i dont want her to be ripped off by any banks,seems a bit steep to me

I am looking for a good bank. I need a current account, with a switch card. What would you recommend?

I dont know anything about IFA, ISA, etc.......... all i know is you get a card and you put it in a ATM, thats all i know lol
