A question about : Rehau, Kommerling or Veka uPVC frames?

Would anyone here have any opinions on whether Rehau, Kommerling or Veka uPVC window frames, in plain white, look less plasticy?

• If you want windows that look less plasticy, have you considered windows not made of plastic?
• Are you saying double glazing sales are a little dodgy . mine was great . sorted a decent price for the job . even got to marry his granny .

A question about : Cost of a juliet balcony

Wondered iof anyone knew hat a juliet balcony might cost?

The window is 6 foot wide so would just need to be deepened, doors fitted and then the railing installed.

A radiator below window would also need to be removed with, presumably, the pipework between the sides joined together and hidden under bottom of doors (radiator not required).

A question about : Truncating Wires in the home and bedding them into the ground

A question about : Billed by electrician for labour but problem not fixed

I contacted a local electrician as my hot water heating was not working. He came in and looked at my timer switch and immersion for around 20 minutes. He said the fuse was blowing and that I would have to get a plumber in as he thought it was the immersion. He left with the fault not fixed.

A week later I received a bill for Ј40 describing the work as for labour Check immersion heater circuit. Faulty immersion.

We are considering having plans done for a double Veluxe loft conversion with en suite.

I’ve measured the floor space 7m x 6m = 42 m2 and there is plenty of head room. What might the total fee be for a basic conversion with a staircase?

A question about : problem with upvc windows sealant

My large living room window has developed a problem in the past year. The right hand side of the frame from the top to about half way down is pulling away from the wall.
It has actually cracked the sealant and I have had to temporarily fix cellotape to stop
the draughts.
The funny thing is,when its warmer weather the crack closes up and when its cold it opens up again to about 2cm. How can window frames or walls contract?
The frames and sealant on the outside seems intact.

A question about : Outdoor lights that turn on at dusk automatically?

Dear all, hope you're well!

We're having a brick shed built at the end of the garden and would like 2 exterior lights to be at the front of it, that automatically turn on at dusk, and off at dawn. There will be electrics in the shed, including bar lights and a few power sockets inside.

A question about : Security window film

Has anyone ever purchased and installed this themselves please?

Any recommendations for companies that sell it please?

• Hi, we take all our film along with the glass to a local sign & graphic company, they put it on for Ј10-Ј20. Might be a little more if they need to go to site to put onto existing glass.
  We've tried it ourselves before but always seem to get at least one bubble somewhere on the film.
