Any help would be very much appreciated as me and my husband are at our wits end.

Our situation is as follows. My husband works and has an excellent credit rating whereas I have an awful credit rating (according to noddle only 2/5 and I have had a DRO previously) and am a full time stay at home mum so am not bringing in any money.

A question about : Paying off Mortgage in First Year

I currently have Ј19k left and 9 years on my mortgage.

We have been looking to move increasing our mortgage by Ј20k ish. If I took out a variable rate deal or another deal with no redemption penalty and paid it off within the first 6-12 months then would there be any penalty?

Hi, first post here! Feeling a bit hopeless so hoping someone can help me find a solution (I'll try not to rant!)
I bought a house three years ago on a teachers salary. The mortgage is currently in my name only and my payments are around Ј315 a month, although started at Ј380 a month.
My husband moved in with me but as I had a fixed term mortgage we didn't bother adding him until we wanted to move/find a new deal as we'd have had to pay product fees again.

my fixed deal with NW ends later this year, assuming the interest rates stay similar i would be looking for another fix with NW. Is this a remortgage or just a administrative deal switch? Just interested.

A question about : Nationwide mortgage application delays

Hi,

I have applied for a Nationwide mortgage through a broker. The full mortgage application was made about 3 weeks ago and valuation came back ok.

Since then, every 2-3 days they have requested extra documents one at the time, followed by periods of silence.

I've been pestering the broker almost daily as I didn't wait another weekend, and it looks like the application went into a black hole with no visibility into why its delayed.

What are people's experience with them ?

A question about : YBS 5 year fixed offset

I have noticed Yorkshire building society doing a 5 year fixed offset mortgage at 2.44%, https://www.ybs.co.uk/mortgages/offse...set-21756.html

What are the thoughts on this? I have got a reasonable amount of savings to offset against. Even thinking worst case, if I had no savings then a rate of 2.44% for 5 years is still not too bad.

Any thoughts?
