Hello.

Long term lurker, plenty of reading though. Need an opinion or two!

After many years of trying to put my credit file right, I have finally got myself in a position to apply for a mortgage. I have no defaults, some very old late payments from 2009 and a couple of AP markers from 2009. Other than that all my accounts show up to date and in good order. No late payments or anything from 2009. No payday loans in the last 12 months, nothing late at all.

A question about : BTL mortgage on an unencumbered property

Hi guys,

Hoping someone can kindly help with my situation. I currently have an unencumbered property which I've just let out this week. I want to take out a buy to let mortgage on it to raise funds to purchase another property and pay off existing mortgage on another property. I've spoken to one leading mortgage broker company that hasn't been able to find me a single lender willing to lend under those circumstances. Surely there must be someone out there or is this mortgage broker right?

A question about : Nationwide Mortgage for Umbrella Company Contractors

Nationwide is among the banks that are considered contractor friendly.

I have an application with them(long story), but I thought I would check if people with similar working arrangements have been successful before:
- worked in the same field for > 10 yrs
- 1 1/2 years working as a contractor using umbrella
- contract with more than 5 months remaining

Day rate is more than enough(according to their calculator) to give me almost twice the loan I am requesting.

  Over 3 years and your options increase, over 6 years and they increase more and rates come down.

A question about : UK mortgage for Spanish property?

Hi all,
I currently have a mortgage in Spain, but the interest rate is much higher than what the UK offers.

I'd like to refinance through a UK bank, and pay a UK interest rate, but it seems like a minefield of information, much of which is contradictory.

Does anyone know who I might contact (a real person with a real phone number and a real UK based address) that I can discuss this with?
