A question about : Gifted deposit and halifax mortgage

Sorry to keep asking so many questions!

About 8 months ago we wanted to apply for a mortgage and my sister gifted us Ј15k for our deposit. At the time we went with Santander but unfortunately we were declined a mortgage due to my partner not meeting the minimum employment requirements (she'd been in her job for one month and they wanted 3 months payslips).

Anyway, fast-forward 8 months and after saving as much as we can, we got a mortgage offer from Halifax 85% LTV on a Ј162k.

A question about : Halifax or Nationwide

I'm looking to buy a property, got a decent deposit and earn a decent income. However, the property in question is from an auction, therefore time is of the essence and I'd have 28 days to get mortgage approval (I know I should have applied earlier).

I am currently saving towards house deposit (saved 9k so far in 14 months by living with bfs family...at the cost of my sanity. But that is another story...) my partner is at uni so just me able to put away and mortgage will be in my name.

A question about : Buy to Let Income under 25K

Hi,

Hoping someone in the know could help me and my mum on this one. My mum is looking to get a Buy to Let mortgage on a Ј370K house. She had the 25% deposit. She ownes her own house outright (worth around Ј350K) Problem being she only earns Ј14K p/a. Do you think she could get a BTL mortgage with under 25K salary?

Hi, I'm currently coming to the end of my Fixed Rate 3.19 2 Year Halifax Mortgage. House was purchased in Augist 2013 for Ј212000.00 and a 20% deposit was put down. Current Monthly Mortgage Amount is Ј825.00. I have overpaid Ј10000.00 of mortgage by paying 600.00 extra for the majority of the months I've had this deal which has brought down the mortgage amount to Ј155000 at the moment and looking to get this to Ј150000.00 by the time August arrives.

Newbie here - we've just found our dream home and are trying to work out if we can afford to buy it and do it up.

We have a fixed rate mortgage that comes to an end in June. If we sell our house we should make 55k 'profit' from it. Including our original deposit we would therefore have 70k cash if we sold the house without buying another.

A question about : Settled PDL's will this affect mortgage?

Hi All, here is my situation:

Currently have a mortgage on a property but looking to sell to be able to buy with my partner.

I have a deposit of Ј25k and no debt and my partner has a deposit of Ј40k and hope to buy a property with 20-25% deposit.

Combined income of Ј58k

The issue I am worried about is last year I used 2 payday loans and was not aware of the consequences. I paid them off in full and are now over 12 months settled. Will this affect my chances?
